Mid-March is a Flurry of Activity

This is one of those smorgasbord blog posts
that earned my blog its eclectic title.
Something for everyone.

Bri tries out a new swing near the tree house.

Hunter places a long distance call on the new tree
house phone.  Well, just to the ground floor, actually.

The kids helped us plant our potatoes. We marked the
planting locations with playground cones.  Bri is either
patting one down or doing the Hokey Pokey.

Hunter: "I did it with my little gloves."

These Tupperware blocks are in their second generation
of use.  Their big draw is that they snap open and contain
all sorts of objects.

It's always worthwhile to have Easter egg hunts with
Grandma.  It's either candy or money.

No, there's no candy OR money in those eggs, Bri.  Sorry.

Checking out the new fort/castle.
It's really anything you want it to be, and it's great.

This new carriage swing is already a favorite.

This slide is a lot higher than our old one.

It may be just a snack, but this day was too pretty
not to utilize the picnic table, which hadn't been
used since last fall.

Claire and Evan can prepare any dish imaginable with
five gallons of water and an unlimited supply of dirt.

Evan has his hands full with FIVE babies!
After their stroll, he takes them to the "park."

Girl talk at the coffee shop.

Evan is going for the stratosphere!

I'm going in . . . if I'm not back in ten minutes . . .

When it comes to play houses, the higher the better.

The hardest part of being a Jedi knight
is where to stow your light saber.

We ran out of orange cones, so Evan and Claire
marked their potato plantings with lucky horseshoes.

I'll protect your garden with two light sabers--
for chocolate chip cookies.

It's family night and Hunter's pet raptor refuses
to let anyone pass through.

Matt reads "Bad Kitty" to Claire and Evan, but
they are also interested in what Bri's reading.
Which happens to be Knock-Knock jokes.

When it's time to bless the lasagna, everyone volunteers
to pray first.  Four blessings can't hurt!
And they are from the heart.

Daylight saving time means the girls can cook
after supper, too.

Iron Man Evan and sidekick Hunter are climbing
and crawling to their heart's content.

Up and over!

These sweet girls came inside announcing,
"Grandpa, come see what we did for you!"
They had raked up two piles of leaves for me.
So thoughtful!

Back inside, Hunter contemplates Grandpa's brownie
birthday cake.  Hunter has only recently started liking
some chocolate, but he's a true believer now.

Grandma lights the 62.

Surely between the five of us we can extinguish
two candles!  And yes, we did.
I love my faithful helpers!

The next day, our dear friend Cheyenne made her
first visit to the tree house.  She was not impressed
with the altitude, but was quite interested in the
furnishings-- phones and balls in particular.

Don't worry, Cheyenne.  I'm not going to make you
go down that ladder.

Jack and Thelma have been informed that they have
a new "grandchild."  Cheyenne, that is.

And in honor of that, Cheyenne decides to whip up
a little something in the kitchen.

Another week of action and fun is about
to kick off.
