The funniest thing happened while I was working on a blog the other day. Something MORE important happened before I could finish. Friday morning Jennifer and Matt went to Moore Regional hospital to await the birth of Evan Bryce Kirby. Judy and I slipped into their house before daylight to stay with Claire for the duration. Many prayers had gone up for a smooth delivery for Jennifer, and those prayers were answered.
Evan Bryce Kirby arrived with no complications at 5:41 p.m. Friday, November 5.
He weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.
OH, HAPPY DAY!
Here's Claire's version: "I was reading the paper when I caught a glimpse of these words: NEW BABY IN KIRBY HOUSEHOLD. I thought, Get outta here, but Grandma and Grandpa quickly verified the news.
Saturday morning, we took Claire over to see Mommy and Daddy and especially her new little brother, Evan.
Claire saw right away that this was a family addition, NOT a trade-in.
Claire: "Now there are enough of us for everybody to sit in somebody's lap!
I already like being a big sister!"
Grandma has already begun logging in hours of holding our precious new bundle. There's so much to share. But plenty of time to share it.
And Grandpa's planning on logging plenty of hours, too. With all four of our lovable grandbabies, showing them all the love we have, playing together, and sometimes just sitting back and watching.
By the way, Evan says "HI."
