Before you view this video, a word of explanation is in order.
This was taken in the latter stages of Claire Kirby's birthday party this past Saturday. Claire has just turned two. She and cousin Brianna were swinging away the waning moments of the party-- most guests had already headed home.
And that's when these girls struck up a neighborly conversation that I'm glad I didn't miss. As they swung, they forgot I was even there. They started out mimicking each other. My best guess is that they were saying "They are" at first. You can make your own interpretation, because it's not really important what they were saying, it's the cuteness of how they said it. Then they progressed to the various ways of saying "No." All in a friendly spirit. Claire says something about "No swinging (sounds like singing?)." Bri can't resist contradicting her with "Yes singing (swinging?)." With a good amount of laughter and some final enthusiastic gesticulating by Bri, the conversation finally ended when some more adults came outdoors, breaking the spell.
I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope to witness some more of these fascinating and informative confabs in the days and years to come.
