Parting shots from January 2012

This blog post is a continuation of the last
one, as I try to catch up on my January
photos of the grandchildren.

"And don't forget ME!" says Kitty Cat.
This is one of his many favorite places around
the house.  And sometimes they are hiding places!

When Grandma adds her real stethoscope to the
Fisher-Price doctor kit, practicing medicine is
suddenly a lot more interesting.

"They're going to have to take out my what?"

"SAVE ME, doctor.  I'm placing myself in your hands."

Any 14 month-old with these soccer skills is
bound to be a Kirby.

Claire is such a dedicated yard worker she's
even mowing the gravel in the driveway.

Evan plus the wagon may be heavier than Brianna,
but Bri is determined to pull it until she drops.

The girls enjoy visiting a special log in the woods
that they call Grandpa's tree.

A very patriotic spot, as you can see.  We were
treated to Claire's recitation of the Pledge of
Allegiance more than once this day.

Evan likes dead trees, too.  It didn't look so high
from down below.

Grandpa has recently re-furbished the glide swing,
and the girls just love it now.

Evan is quite the chef.  His specialty is stir-fry.
Sand or whatever.

Bri has extra places set for teatime, but baby
can't wait.  This child is starving.

There are never quite enough hands.  This is the first
time Evan rode our horsey independently.  It was used
in bygone days by Jennifer, Amanda, ... and JUDY!

Granny pops by with an enticing offer.
"But I guess with all that good food you
wouldn't be interested in these blueberries . . . ."
(The children finished off the berries in minutes)

The washing machine box I saved is on its last
legs, but still adding to creative play.  Will Evan
dare to enter this castle?

Even while enjoying the blueberry snack, Bri
thoughtfully offers Evan a push. (She offered
him a blueberry, too).

Kitty Cat loves to be near the children, but can
often be very elusive.  Let's just see if Evan can
follow him onto that woodpile.

Nope, but Kitty Cat admires Evan's perseverance
and offers a free petting.  That's a win-win situation.

Most children have to learn first-hand why this
popular toy is called a Sit-and-Spin, not a
Stand-and-Spin.

With a long enough rope, I rigged the car and
wagon so all the children could ride at once.

There goes Kitty Cat and we're off to the races
once again.  But Kitty Cat can only be caught
when he wants to be!

When you see this threesome all sitting down at
the same time, you know they're about out of
energy.  And I'm sure you've been wondering
where Hunter has been.  Well, he was with his
Mommy, supposedly being offered a great
opportunity to take a nap.  But we'll have some
of his classic moments soon.

Stay tuned for some video highlights
that will make you smile-- coming soon.
